Employment-Based Immigrant Petitions
If your employer has filed a petition for you to travel to the United States, you may be eligible for an employment-based immigrant visa. The requirements for an employment-based immigrant visa are different from the requirements for a family-based immigrant visa. Your employer may be required to obtain a labor certification from the U.S. Department of Labor before filing a Form I-140, Petition for Prospective Immigrant Employee, on your behalf.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is where your employer will begin the immigrant visa process for you. All immigration forms and complete information can be obtained online at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.
