Check the Validity of Your Passports

December 6, 2011

As the end-of-year travel season approaches the U.S. Embassy would like to remind all U.S. citizens to double check the expiration date of their passports to assure that their travel documents are still valid for use. If possible, you should renew your passport approximately nine (9) months before it expires. As a general rule, most foreign countries require travelers to be in possession of a passport valid for at least the next six (6) months in order to be admitted into their territories. Also, most airlines will not board travelers who are not in possession of a valid passport. If you are in need of renewing your passport, please send an email to ACSPAP@state.gov to make an appointment to submit your application.
