Non-Immigrant Visas

The Cashier is now receiving payment via credit/debit cards

June 17, 2014

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince has resumed receiving payments for consular services by credit/debit card as of May 2014.

Please be advised that you may also pay in U.S. dollar cash or Haitian gourdes cash to pay for consular services.

Before submitting your application, you must pay the non-refundable application fee of US $160 or the equivalent in local currency (Gourde) per application at a SOGEBANK branch.

In order to verify payment of this fee, you must submit, along with your application, the original receipt for each visa applicant. (Deposit slips are valid for only one year from the date the cash deposit is made.)

SOGEBANK will ensure that the payment is made into the correct account. No account number is necessary.  If you are requested to pay at the U.S. Embassy by a consular employee, the fee can be paid in US dollars or Haitian gourdes to the Consular Section’s Cashier only.   Please note that the current exchange rate at the consular section is 46.00 Gourdes to one U.S. dollar.
