Consulate Closed Friday, August 24, 2012 Due to Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince is closed to the public due to tropical storm/hurricane conditions.  We regret any inconvenience this may cause.  American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services unit will be closed for routine services.  All previously scheduled appointmentsfor August 24 will be rescheduled for another date.  Again, American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

Nonimmigrant Visa Services

All nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for August 24 will be rescheduled on a to-be-determined date.  Applicants with appointments on August 24 should monitor the radio and Embassy website for new appointment dates.  If your situation is urgent, please email papniv@state.gov and specify the emergencynature of the situation.

Immigrant Visa Services

Immigrant visa applicants scheduled for an interview on August 24 should come for their interviews at the same time on Wednesday, August 29.  If you have any questions you may call CIVA at 3859-9564 or email papcons@state.gov .

Appointments for all other consular services scheduled for August 24, 2012 will be rescheduled on a to-be-determined date.

Haiti Messenger has informed the Consulate that they will suspend all operations on August 24 and there will be no passport return services.
