The Consular Section Will Be Closed on Thursday, January 12, 2012 for National Day of Remembrance

The Government of Haiti has declared January 12, 2012, a National Day of Remembrance.  As a result, the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince will be closed to the public.  We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

AMERICAN CITIZEN SERVICES

The American Citizen Services unit will be closed for routine services.  All previously scheduled appointments for January 12 will be/have been rescheduled for another date.  American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

NONIMMIGRANT VISA SERVICES

All nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for January 12 will be rescheduled for the same time on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.  Applicants with appointments on January 12 will not be admitted to the Consulate on any day other than January 25.  If your situation is urgent, please email papniv@state.gov and specify the emergency nature of the situation.

IMMIGRANT VISA SERVICES

Immigrant visa applicants scheduled for an interview on January 12 who were notified of an alternate appointment date should follow the instructions they received from the Consular Section.  If we were unable to contact you, you  may return on January 25 at 7:00 a.m. for your interview.  If you have any questions you may call CIVA at 3859-9564 or email papcons@state.gov .
