Consulate Will Be Closed Wednesday, February 22, 2012

The Government of Haiti has declared February 22, 2012, a National Holiday. Government offices and schools will be closed. As a result, the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince will be closed to the public. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services unit will be closed for routine services. All previously scheduled appointments for February 22 will be/have been rescheduled for another date. American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

Nonimmigrant Visa Services

All nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for February 22 will be rescheduled for the same time on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Applicants with appointments on February 22 will not be admitted to the Consulate on any day other than February 29.  If your situation is urgent, please email papniv@state.gov and specify the emergency nature of the situation.

Immigrant Visa Services

Immigrant visa applicants scheduled for an interview on February 22 who were notified of an alternate appointment date should follow the instructions they received from the Consular Section. If we were unable to contact you, you may return on February 29 at 7:00 a.m. for your interview. If you have any questions you may call CIVA at 3859-9564 or email papcons@state.gov.

Appointments for all other consular services scheduled for February 22, 2012, excepting individuals who are contacted personally by consular staff, have been rescheduled for the same time on February 29.
