Fanmi Lavalas has planned a demonstration for tomorrow, 18 May 2005, to take place in the Bel Air, Delmas, Cite Soleil, and Champs des Mars areas.  United States citizens are advised to avoid the areas of this march during this time.  
 
One group of protestors will begin marching at 1000 hours in Bel Air and will move toward Delmas 2.  A second group of protestors will leave Cite Soleil at the same time and travel on Boulevard JJ Dessalines until they join the first group at Delmas 2. The protestors
will then move from Delmas 2 toward Martin Luther King Boulevard.  The group will then turn west along Rue Capois, ending their march in Place Constitution.  Following a pause at this location, the group will take Rue Capois in the direction of Rue Piquant.  The marchers will follow Rue Piquant to Rue Lamarre and onto Rue Pavee.  They will then proceed toward
Martin Luther King Boulevard, where they will stage a rally at the intersection of MLK, Airport Road, and Route Delmas.

 There will likely be traffic flow disruptions,
police activity, and impassable roadways in these areas. The American
Citizen Services unit advises all U.S. citizens to avoid the areas
mentioned above for the duration of the planned march.
 
   U.S. citizens currently in Haiti should remain
vigilant and review their security posture on a regular basis. Conditions
remain unsettled throughout the country, making travel hazardous at times.

security conditions and will promptly disseminate information affecting
the safety of Americans abroad through its consular information program.
